On a side note, as an art major (for my bachelor's), this sickens me. So many ancient pieces will be lost because of their lust to return to the 16th century.

Maj Matt Hylton, seems as though you've chosen an unpopular topic....there is more interest in sharing clown faces and meme's vice addressing a situation which erased history right in front of us, a situation that could cause us to put boots on the ground. I got skin in the fight, not only mine but my sons as well. I don't share meme's with him, what we do is we discuss what is going on in the world though, what could impact him and see him deploying again at a very short notice.
I am beginning to wonder if this really is a "the U.S. Military's Professional Network" when the popularity of the jokes and clown faced meme's shadow the reality of what our younger Service Members are facing.
It GEN Casey really a RP Advisor? To consider that fact and think this is what he would condone as to what he thinks right looks like....that we laugh at the seriousness of this situation and continue to use memes as seniors using repulsive and obscene language that we preach at our younger service members not to do. This site is becoming a ridiculous collection of hypocrisy.

CSM Michael J. Uhlig Surprisingly, I got better discussion when posting this article on my Facebook page between the group of friends I have in the Air Force and all of my friends from VMI (a lot of Army and a few Navy/Marine officers).
It does say something about the direction of RP when the meme threads keep topping the discussion posts, but we can't intelligently discuss news stories like this. I expected to see a few more posts at least condemning this behavior, calling them a few choice names and at least proposing that we go back in there to stop these idiots.

Maj Matt Hylton, you are just not understanding them. This is all part of the new jobs program State is creating for them. They will now be able to put hundreds of artists to work recreating those pieces destroyed.
