SGT (Join to see) Well you will be on the Dark-side(Special OPS) you are held to a higher standard and less bull; not to mention a high success promotion rate and more adventure(travel/training) with a lot of schools to go along with it in Special OPS. In the regular Army--get in a line and wait your turn.

We don't. I look at it as that we are 'apples' and they are 'oranges'. Our mission sets, training, funding and requirements are so different that the only commonality exists on a complementary level to me.

SGT (Join to see) , I think you question needs more specificity. Having served in both during my formative years as an NCO, I can tell you they are night and day. While the special operations world has high performers in it, there are things they cannot do by the very nature of what they do. They are used to small teams and small unit leadership. This is very different from the conventional side where you can have a company of 300+. How you deal with leadership challenges are going to be different, especially because there are not as many in the SOF world. In some ways, conventional senior leaders perform much better at things.
Not sure this answers anything, but I hope I gave you some perspective.

In RA units you have single positions, whereas in the dark arts you must wear many many hats.
