RP Members have you heard of Project Sanctuary?
Here is another great company providing great service for our military families. Check this out and they are located in Granby, CO!
http://projectsanctuary.us
Project Sanctuary supports our military families by providing therapeutic retreats, enabling the families to reconnect and reintegrate into their communities through education, innovative services, supportive follow through…and FUN! Of the hundreds of families who have attended our retreats, 90% are still intact; we happily report ZERO SUICIDES, and all servicemen and women who want to have a job are working. Simply put, our program works.
Project Sanctuary is a Colorado-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation founded in September 2007 after founder Heather Ehle discovered no organization was helping military families as a whole. Led by veterans and her board of directors, Heather carefully listened to what the military families needed and then structured Project Sanctuary’s programs to meet those needs, pulling from her background as a Registered Nurse to establish an evidence-based program that encompasses spiritual, physical and emotional healing.
Founding Principle: The whole family serves, and the best way to “support the troops” is by supporting the family.
Vision Statement: Project Sanctuary will assist military service members returning from our nation’s wars and conflicts by reconnecting the family unit through a holistic approach, healing the effects of war, treating all members of the family at their level of need, and enabling the service members to reintegrate into their families and communities in a healthy and sustainable manner, resulting in preservation of the family unit and strengthening of the community, the military and the country.
Mission Statement: Project Sanctuary takes our military families from battle-ready to family-ready by providing six-day, outdoor, therapeutic retreats in a healing environment and ongoing family support services for two years following each retreat.
Commitment to Transparency & Fiduciary Responsibility
Project Sanctuary is a proud Gold-level Guidestar Exchange Participant.

COL Mikel J. Burroughs, I used to be the Chief Development Officer at Project Sanctuary. Great organization with a terrific mission to help not just the service member / veteran, but his/her family as well. In fact, RallyPoint Team partnered with Project Sanctuary on various initiatives over the past year, including having an ad on the right side of your screen at times.

LTC Jason Strickland That is awesome. I see they have group page as well. How do you go about getting a Group Page set up for a business that really helps Vets. Like for BVAN and Virtual Worlds? I'd be interested in how to do that if you don't mind giving me some insight?

COL Mikel J. Burroughs, actually the RallyPoint Team team created the page a while back when they were first launching these pages. I would talk to one of them or an administrator.

This sounds like a fantastic program for military members. The concept alone says a great deal about the intent behind it. I will be sharing this with friends and family. Thanks for sharing COL Mikel J. Burroughs.

COL Mikel J. Burroughs, I sent this link to my wife who had actually heard about it from a girlfriend of hers. Their family attended and had nothing but great things to say about the benefits to the family and their marriage.

This question almost sounded like an Orderly Room discussion. You ask the same question and get four answers, three of which come back as obvious that the respondent has no idea of what you just asked, but answered anyway. Promote the honest responses. :-)

SSgt Chris Enslow thank you for the wit and narrative. Now, let me make sure I answer the original question. No, I had not heard of the program prior to reading the attached article.

Sgt Kelli Mays You are very welcome. I would have really liked to use something like this, but unfortunately I didn't!
