Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump pledged at a campaign rally to rebuild the US military to make it so powerful no other nation could challenge the United States.
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – The stadium can hold 43,000 people, but CNN from aerial coverage estimated the crowd at around 20,000.
“I will rebuild our military, it will be so strong and so great,” Trump told a crowd on Friday at a stadium in Mobile, Alabama.
“It will be so powerful and so great that we will never have to use it, nobody's going to mess with us.”
Trump Says US Defends Competitors Japan, South Korea, Gets Nothing in Return
Donald Trump criticized the US commitment to defend South Korea and Japan without getting anything in return.
The US is obligated to defend Japan if the country comes under attack, Trump said, but under the terms of the defense treaty Japan doesn’t have to come to the aid of the United States.
“Do you think that is a good deal?” he asked a packed crowd at a stadium with a capacity of 43,000 people.
Trump said that the United States was running up enormous trade deficits with Japan and South Korea while defending them, but getting nothing in return.
Trump continues to strongly lead the Republican field in all national and and major state polls.

Ummmm I'm going to wait till he tells us HOW he's going to make a Military that NO ONE wants to see face to face (or mano e mano) as is better. Money won't make us better, training can do it to a point, but no politician will ever do it. Being great is a state of mind; a belief in something bigger than yourself, and the internal fortitude to make sure the mission is completed. THAT'S why we're GREAT as we are. We do all of that and then some.

SSG Warren Swan - keep waiting, as Trump has yet to elaborate on how he plans on to do anything. But don't you worry, we'll be huuuuge, and it'll be tremendous....and America will be great again (what does that even mean?).

LTC (Join to see) - Well now that you have the SMA who likes making uniform changes, soon you'll have more gold on the dress uniforms. You won't know who's an aide or a new private. (I wouldn't mind him bringing back full color unit patches on garrison) All will wear lots of gold. Well he'll be the only sitting President ever to have an entire fleet named after him. All the barracks service wide would be run by Trump Construction, and be ginormous.

Like most have already said, we have the strongest military in the world. With the exception of Russia, and China, which are dubious contenders at best, the top ten militaries in the world are our NATO allies, or friends of ours that we have sold arms, and knowledge to. Congrats Trump, you did it without even trying. Where do people get these ideas that our military, which has fought two wars simultaneously, for over a decade, is somehow weak?
