Have you ever wondered how big the United States Air Force actually is?

Don't forget that a major portion of the air force does not even deal with aircraft and can deal devastating power anywhere (Minuteman III missile system).

Big enough to whup arse from a distance!

I am a big fan of the USAF as my Dad was a career airman and I grew up on AF bases around the world. The real question is not how big is it but how big should it be to meet our strategic needs. I know it is smaller than it was a few years ago with wings being shut down and capabilities being drawn back. We don't have "unlimited reach around the globe". We have reach around the globe but it has limitations like any capability.
