If I have been DA selected for recruiting duty and have a report date to ARC, can I be disqualified for a DUI from over 12 years ago?

Hi everyone, so I been DA selected for recruiting duty and got a report date to ARC, I just sent up my packet my question is can't I be disqualified for a dui that happen over 12 years ago before I switch over to the army from another branch. Am not trying to get disqualified I actually want to do recruiting duty. Thank you in advance.

Quick answer, anything is possible, but DA has reviewed your records prior to selection, and they selected you, so you should be ok.

Thank you SGM. I know lots of people not wanting to go recruiting but am actually excited and can't wait to do it.

I would think that for DA select, that they already ran a Personnel Suitability Screening (PSS) on that roster, and determined a DUI that is 12 years old (either as junior enlisted or prior to enlistment) is not a big deal.
Worst case scenario, the PSS is still coming up, your name will cycle into a Stand By Advisory Board (STAB), where you will provide a letter to the president of the board taking full responsibility for the DUI, and outlining your success since then, and character references from your CSM and BC.
And after that you should also be ok.

I just want to thank you for wanting to be a recruiter. I hope you are successful wherever you are assigned. I would have taken a bar to re-enlistment rather than go on recruiting duty when I was an active duty Soldier.
