Nope. The agency does a lot more than just abortions. In some places, they are the only game in town for overall women's health care. And even if you hate abortion, bear in mind it will happen anyway if it is banned; it will just happen in back-alleys with wire hangers. That's not a statement of morality, it is just acknowledging the facts that there has been, and always will be, a market for seeking to end unplanned pregnancies. Best to keep these things safe and open so they can be monitored.

If this is the case, then it should be better regulated and abortions should be limited to the term of the gestation of the fetus

Sgt Kelli Mays - Believe it or not, the term of gestation of the fetus is part of the reason how this practice got it's beginnings...Supply and demand (for abortions and for fetal tissue)... Which is why Pro-life'er tend to get upset when that gestational term increases either through a Supreme Court case decision or legislation introductions... Keep in mind, none of this matters if it's just an embryo... but fetus's are definitely more viable in comparison and definitely big business...

So that is why we should support the murders? Give us a break there are thousands of people who are waiting in line to adopt babies and they continue to kill them. A MILLION RIGHTS WILL NEVER MAKE UP FOR A SINGLE MURDEROUS WRONG! Shift the money to other institutions who provide the "good" and we will all benefit from it. Do away with back alley abortion places and support vigorously adoptive clinics.

Yes. There is no valid reason that people that see this as killing human beings and selling their body parts should be forced to support this private company’s operations with their tax dollars.

Couldn't have said it better. I can think of plenty of better things for my tax dollars to go to then ending a life, even if by their standards the life hasn't fully developed yet.

SrA Matthew Knight, for that matter, my life hasn't fully developed yet either. It has just been allowed to develop further than the people shown on the tray in the videos that were beside themselves.

SrA Jessica Schultz, I have no problem with that. Parting out children is another matter, IMHO.
BTW, isn't Obamacare supposed to do all of those other things as well? Why is PP needed now?

This is a hard question for me. I will say up front that I am pro-life and find abortion repulsive on all levels (though medically necessary in rare circumstances).
When I was in India, I had the chance to check out some sweat shops and was horrified by what I saw. The pastor I was working with responded to my angry desire to report them and get them closed with "If you shut them down, the people will starve. Is that what you would choose?" I realized then that the real world isn't as simple as "This is evil. Make it go away!" Principles over people results in an enormous amount of suffering beyond what is already present.
Abortion is really a tiny fraction of what PP does and actually play a key role in REDUCING abortions (while simultaneously being the largest provider in the country...ironic, I know). They are, in many areas, the only access to women's health services. Shut them down and hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of at-risk women would lose the only lifeline they have. It's not good enough to shut down the sweat shop. There needs to be a real, viable alternative in place first.

Curious where you got your data. Using PP's own reports, in 2020-21, abortions made up 97.2% of Planned Parenthood’s pregnancy resolution services, while prenatal services, miscarriage care, and adoption referrals accounted for only 1.6% (6,244), 0.7% (2,653) and 0.5% (1,803), respectively. https://lozierinstitute.org/fact-sheet-planned-parenthoods-2021-22-annual-report/
Fact Sheet: Planned Parenthood's 2021-22 Annual Report - Lozier Institute
Abortions and Non-Abortion Services: Change from Last Year and Long-Term Trends Planned Parenthood’s service data lags behind the rest of the information in the report – the 2021-22 report contains information on services provided in 2020-2021.[1] Planned Parenthood performed 374,155 abortions[2] in 2020-21 – down a little over 9,300 from the previous year, but […]
