I was born and raised in ND joining the Air Force right out of high school. I spent 5 years working as a weather forecaster in the Midwest. Despite enjoying some aspects of the military I have put away my green uniforms and instead wear the blue uniform of a police officer in North Dakota.

Weather Forecaster
Act as an eyes forward weather observer providing weather observations to the forecasters at the 26th OWS as well as pilots and other on base personnel. Prepare and disseminate mission forecasts for pilots and planners of flights for A10s, T38s, AH64s, H-60s and B2s in order to prepare them for any significant weather events and protect both personnel and assets from weather hazards.

Weather Forecaster
Forecasted weather for 20 major Air Force and Army posts across northeast CONUS as well as countless smaller units by providing aerodrome forecasts and issuing weather Watches, Warnings and Advisories to protect the base personnel and assets. Additionally acted as a Flight Weather Briefer providing pilots with forecasts covering flight routes, MOAs, Drop Zones, low level routes and air refueling tracks for their flight planning purposes.
