I recently received orders for Fort Drum. I am looking to see if anyone has any information on how to have orders deleted. I am on my initial contract.

Honestly, Fort Drum is such a beautiful area...especially if you're an outside kind of person; even in the winter (with layers of clothing).

I would seek help from your Career Counselor or Branch Manager.

The branch manager is an issue. She has been nothing but rude to both me and my fellow Foxes here. I am aware of the DA Form 4187 Request for Deletion of Orders, but that will go through my branch manager who will not delete them. What I am doing now is submitting a volunteer recruiting packet, but it is my fear that my branch manager will not release me for recruiting duty.

Yeah, our branch manager sucks. I know multiple NCOs in our MOS who have had difficulties with branch. Why do you need your orders deleted?

SGT (Join to see) - Branch is less inclined to delete assignments without justification and recommendation from the requester's chain of command. If you have a valid request then you do need to utilize the 4187 to get your request processed. Your Branch manager/representative is not the approval authority for deleting your assignment. Filling assignments is becoming more difficult with the drawing down of forces. Although your branch manager should not be disrespectful or rude, has branch given a reason why they can not or won't delete your assignment?
