For some, maxing the APFT is no sweat but for many, there is at east one APFT event that gives them trouble no matter how much they work on improving that event beforehand. What is your weakest event if any and what did you do to improve on that event?

After finding out I have a bad disk, damn sit ups. I can do them, but the pain I sun real.

CW4 (Join to see) At one time nothing was too bad for me until I hit about 55 the sit-ups just starting kicking my butt, no matter how much I trained and practiced they just kicked my butt. Prior to 55 I was in great shape and didn't have any issues.

Definitely the Pushups, not for the movement or inability to do 70 or 80 to max out, but having shoulder issues for a decade before the military and not knowing that it would be a problem has always bugged me. Sometimes it's a good day, sometimes the body just says not today. Rotator cuff surgery is definitely a hinderence for that, just like knee or foot injuries for runners and hernias for doing situps. The three movements we are tested on will tell you if you have something wrong when you go all out for 2 minutes at a time. Even if you didn't think there was anything wrong. Just think all service branches would adjust fire and standarize it across the board and embrace the "Overall Comprehensive Soldier Fitness" idea that is preached.

Grading the APFT is the most challenging. The junior enlisted are generally good to go and listen to their deficiencies and correct them. Mid level and senior NCOs tend to be less receptive. I'm sorry 1SG but if you don't go all the way down or up they aren't being counted. Watch my demonstrator!

I remember having to fail many PLDC students each cycle when I was a SGL and they all said that they always came close to or maxed their APFT back at their unit. Also, I remember in BNCOC a few classmates failed push-ups because we actually got held to the standard.
