I'm interested in this path, and I would like to talk to someone who has done this.

we're hiring Correctional officers here in Idaho and you can use your G.I. bill for OJT Before during and after the academy I don't know all the ins and outs of and how it works
http://www.DHR.idaho.gov
register on the website
look under correctional officers

Thank you! I am no longer interested in moving to Idaho (used to be, now happy with Florida or international travel) and correctional officer would not work for me.

Possibly. In addition to the standard "college courses" that people use the GI bill for, you can use it for OJT/apprenticeship and to attend a trade school. If either of these apply, then the answer is a qualified "yes".

You can go to the VA's WEAMS site and do a search to see if there are existing agreements/approvals in place for the training:
https://inquiry.vba.va.gov/weamspub/buildSearchInstitutionCriteria.do

If it's not there, then that just means you're going have to look harder for a "yes" before assuming it's a "no".

If you are pursuing more of an OJT/apprenticeship, then they have other rules (again, if applicable to your situation).

Thank you! I've been out of school for a couple of years and forgot about WEAMS.

And the OJT looks very interesting for this path.
