Has anyone had orders that brought then to the same unit, and was required to outprocess the unit and then reprocess in? Currently been here for 2.5 year. Re-enlisted in October for stabilization

I was assigned to the US Army Student Det Ft Jackson SC with duty at Cal State San Bernardino and PCSed to the same detachment with duty at Newport Naval Station.
When I commanded 95th Maintenance Co (TMDE) Joes PCSed from one Det to another Det without leaving the Co. part of it is financial processing so you get the right payments and BAH rate because you’re under a new FI supporting unit.

Same Unit , Same shop and everything or are you just moving to another Unit within the same Command?
It would be weird if you were to check in and check out of the same Battalion/Squadron but if it’s the same regiment level command or higher and you are moving with that Command that wouldn’t be unheard of.

Same everything. It's really weird, my s1 has never seen it before. I went down to the inprocessing/ reassignment center and they are looking into it.

SGT (Join to see) - Lean on your leadership for assistance. You shouldn't have to do all that but it is quite possible that somebody low on the admin chain tells you to so they don't have to change their processes and they don't have to ask questions on how to handle it.
