This happens everytime. A Presidential candidate gives a speech we like and we think, "Yeah, that's what this country needs and he'll get it done!"
But we seem to forget to factor in one thing: our broken Congress. Unless Trump plans on paying for the wall, fixing U.S. based jobs, and the slew of other problems he talked about out of his own pocket, he's gonna need Congressional approval to do a lot of what he's talking about. He won't be able to EO his way through bureaucracy. He can't threaten Congress' jobs if they don't do what he wants. And we've seen it before. When President tries to force something down Congress' throat, they purposely drag their feet and slow everything down to show the executive office who's boss.
So, I like the fresh attitude, energy, confidence, and determination that Trump is showing. However, it takes a competent President and a FUNCTIONING Congress to get things done. Look at Obamacare. It only passed because Dems had majority in both sides of Congress. When's the last time we've seen bipartisanship when we've needed it?

I like the response... right out of my playbook.
However, Trump was an A$$hat when he said what he did about the Mexican people. There are plenty of folks of Mexican descent, citizens and illegals alike, who were deeply offended by his statements. Not fake outrage, like so many other "issues" that are being discussed now. Actually offended.
Trump wants to be President. Undoubtedly, he will have some good ideas. But his ideas will not be heard if he manages to offend that many people IN HIS CAMPAIGN ANNOUNCEMENT SPEECH.
If he wants to make noise in the primaries, he will need to keep the rubric under control.

I don't know about you 1SG (Join to see), but I personally could give a damn what illegal Mexicans think.

They shouldn't be offended...ask any border guards and they will tell you the truth of what Trump said.

Well, at least the man seems to stick to his guns. I have to admit I find the idea of a "big business guy" at the helm of the US to be an interesting ideal. If Trump could take steps to balance the budget and stick to his guns on immigration and border reforms, I would vote for him !!

I think he could be an interesting candidate too. Might even be worth something as president, but he will have to ratchet down the way he talks. Learning some diplomacy isn't going to be easy for him. However, he won't be the first President that told it like it was without apology.
