I read an interesting piece today in my continuing study of Daesh. This piece looks at how Daesh views itself. You may think that this is odd, but know your enemy and how he thinks.

Know your enemy. The first rule of warfare.
I am with the author most of the way, except for one. I can't pretend to be in the mind of these people, but I do not believe that they are true believers in atrocity as Allah's mercy. I think that it is very carefully rubric designed to instill fear in their enemies. The savages that commit those acts are useful idiots, much like Hess' SA in the early days of the Third Reich.
In the event that IS was ever successful in establishing a state, these people would be discarded, and replaced by more useful thugs who have not been driven to madness through their dehumanizing acts.
The author is spot on when he points out that their primary enemy is other Muslims. It is a struggle for supremacy within the Muslim world, and it will be a winner-take-all nasty one.

Interesting piece. The Atlantic recently posted an article that makes similar claims, but I believe backs them up better. I believe this is the best piece I've read on ISIS so far.

My understanding of Daesh is that they use some form of Occult Principles and Occult Knowledge, as well as hypnosis and Deep Trans state meditation. These Occult Prinicples manifest a "holy Jihad" or an "Inner struggle".
