I don't know that it's politically feasible.
If the US demands that other countries be held accountable for their war crimes, what happens when that country demands that the US be held accountable for its own?
Two minutes after that press conference, Wikileaks, Snowden and Manning would flood the internet with the thousands of pages of US war crimes over the last few decades.
Old sayings about glass houses come to mind.

You bring a good points about glass houses. But very often the U.S.A. condones whatever behaviors and or actions we take - using the phrase in the interest of national interest. Other nations usually don't confront us because of our status and or money that they receive from us!

I would love to say we should charge through the storm like the buffalo and come to the rescue of Ukraine... but, we might wanna be careful about throwing out "War Crimes" as our reason... I can not think of an administration in the past 30 years that could not have been accused of the same.
With that said, I would support sending in U.S. troops to help with humanitarian needs. Civilians, women and children, are never acceptable targets.
Just my opinion though, I could be wrong...

SSG Carlos Madden I can accept that argument. I agree that we certainly should address what's going on there, just don't want to give the world another reason to hate us.

The problem with getting involved with this conflict is facts... Unbiased facts... Thus far, unbiased reports are few and far between, as such, we don't really know what's goin on over there. Certain people want us to believe it's all Russia asserting dominance, others want us to believe something far more strange and difficult to grasp. With that in mind, stepping into that minefield is unwise for anyone without some real facts.

1st and foremost, it must be verified by unbiased personnel- The UN or Ukraine would turn it over to the World Court in Holland. Nothing much will happen as long as Putin is in power or stays in Russia.
