The last time the Taliban took power in Afghanistan women and children suffered dearly, like no other human rights violations could ever be made in any country. The 9/11 terror attacks on American shores paints an even more gory picture of this new regime. Lasker-e-Taiba (LeT) and other regional terror outfits are flocking to accept this Haqqani Network backed Taliban today. Will Al Qaeda and ISIS be revived in this new Islamic Emirate?

IMHO, CPT Gurinder (Gene) Rana this seems to be inevitable and I fear attacks on the US on the anniversary of 9/11

CPT Gurinder (Gene) Rana Their visible leadership will say the right things to the right people until the spotlight leaves them (15 minutes of fame) for another topic. They will then return to their historic roots, with no evolution beyond the 8th century, supported by 21st century technology. Once power is established across the country, traditional infighting will begin to see which of the warlords will be the premier in the country.
An author once observed that, in Afghanistan, one only actually ruled what one could see. Doesn't seem that much has changed from that perspective. I feel sorry for those who have experienced some freedom over the past 20 years only to have it removed this week.

That's already happening now with their Christian man hunts and torture before people get to the air port.
