I'm currently still waiting for BAH to kick in. I got married the end of May got my spouse enrolled in DEERS and gave my paper work done and turned into S1 on the 8th. I'm signed out of the barracks but am still in my room as my command team doesn't want me traveling 2 hours were my spouses currently lives. They told me I should have it by the beginning of the month called my bank and it isn't coming tomorrow my command team also said the latest the 15th. I'm just worried as we close on a house closer to base the 19th so I'm relying on my BAH for some of the closing costs. My question is how long does it typically take for BAH to kick in?

If your BAH doesn't come in immediately you will get back pay to the effective date; you aren't authorized to draw BAH and live in the barracks at the same time.
As for the closing costs, I realize you may be relying on BAH for some of those, but that is a bad financial decision. You may need to request an advance pay in order to pay some of those costs

SPC (Join to see) The BLUF question: Did Finance receive and Process your DA 5960 and accompanying documents amongst the "paperwork"? That is the question your S1 needs to get the answer for. Do they have a Form 200 with Finance signing for it?
Agree with SFC (Join to see) you may need an advanced pay to cover this.
Saw in another post you need it by the 1st of September. The general rule of thumb for Finance is that if you change your pay and everything that is required is received prior to the 10th, you'll see it EOM. If you don't see it by the 15th as new entitlement, then you need to follow up with a pay inquiry. Write down exactly who at Finance you talked to, what was said, and what the solution was. NEVER give Finance the only copy of anything. Always assume you will need to refile.
The BAH should kick in effective the day you relinquished your UPH Barracks Room. Its the date on the memo showing you cleared the barracks. That should have been in the BAH package along with an ETP to depart UPH signed by the Garrison Commander, if it was required. Since you got married, it likely isn't. Its similar to when people living in housing clear post housing and get that sacred memo.

BAH kicking in can be 2 to 4 weeks depending on when they get it in and the speed of your command team. Bad idea to plan on BAH for your closing.
