What do you think of State IDs displaying veteran status? Does your State have it?

In South Dakota we have our Veteran status pointed out on our driver's licenses or ID cards. It's the same documentation that you would need for Veteran's license plates (at least in SD it is). Do your states have similar status's for ID cards?
Usually when you want to take advantage of a military associated discount you must prove your association. Retirees get ID cards (as far as I know), but those that don't serve the full time don't get anything (you can get a VA card, but in some cases this is not enough). Some businesses will accept expired military ID cards, but others won't. I think all states should adopt a program to qualify for special designations on ID cards for Veterans. Bring in proper documentation and have the status added to the ID you already carry around!
What say RP?

Arizona puts VETERAN on your license if you show military ID or your DD214. You can also get veteran license plates.

Doesn't Arizona have long expiration periods? You can pay once for a DL while other states will have you pay per renewal (which can vary by state, I think SD is 5 years). So you get to pay for one DL that lasts until you are 65 (so $20-$25), whereas I am paying $20 bucks every 5 years. That sounds way better to me!
I don't think it's that big a deal to pay for a DL. It would be nice if they offered a discounted renewal or something. I did have to pay a little extra for my Veteran's plates as well, but again that doesn't seem like that big a deal. Believe me, it would be nice if it were all free, but I don't feel so self-entitled that I would make a big deal about it.

SPC Jeff Daley, PhD, you are correct in that we get charged for our DL, but I want to say that the cost is no more than a regular license. Where they do get us is the license plates. The veteran license plates I have on my SUV and motorcycle were quite expensive.
Sgt Israel Zinns, you are also correct. Arizona DL's are good for 25 years though you have to update your picture every 5 years I believe.
Furthermore, license plates are good for 5 years, or 2 years if you're still making payments on your vehicle.
