Besides leadership, what other attributes and/or skill set do Veterans bring to corporate America that they and Veterans have a hard time articulating/translating?

Veterans generally have a particular skill which is difficult to sell is the dedication and structure that military veterans have so ingrained in them. We advise when advice is warranted, but do as we are told to reach mission success. We follow our leaders and when we find ourselves in the position of leading - we do!

Anything.....Civilians don't understand the diversity of military jobs.

Just because I worked in Medical for 20 years does not mean I do not understand supply and acquisition...or facility management....or human resources....etc.....

they tend to focus on your AFSC and not your actual work experiences

This, 1000 times over. Basic soldiers who take their equipment maintenance and upkeep seriously have fantastic experience applicable for inventory management, for another example.

This may sound crazy. I've attended 5 different employer panels at Fort Richardson to learn what employers look for, pitfall and success stories.

The one thing all employers want and value about military members is...

... that we show up to work. And on time!

Every time they all say the same thing.
