How much would a new E5 with 5 years in service make ?

i've asked people around about this and couldn't get a clear answer and idk if i can ask this question here but, i've been in for 5 years. 2.5 years as a SPC (yes i know thats a long time) and now i'm getting pinned SGT soon, would i get paid by time in service or pay goes by grade ?

Not clear enough... looks like the arrow pointing to the right points to the circle while the arrow pointing down points to 0.00. Also, the circle encapsulates 4 different numbers. I need a little bit more clarification to understand what's all going on here.

If you check your LES, you will see that pay is dependent on both time in service and what pay grade you are. Your current BAS will not change.

yea bragg just put out that most e5s aren't gonna be in the barracks my platoon is moving me into housing

In which case your leadership will inform you of the BAH you'll be receiving.
On a side note, I recommend that, as a potential NCO, you'll be writing counseling statements and other documents, and your communication skills may need sharpening. Things like proper spelling, punctuation, and other skills are worth having. Work with your leadership on that and your career potential will increase significantly. Good luck!!

SFC Peter Krarup - as well as being able to research and provide the proponent answer to your Joes' questions, like the pay charts on DFAS, regs on APD, etc., and teaching them how to do the same.
