This may sound like a dumb question but I am honestly desperate to know. So I left for bootcamp in 2019 and failed the initial pfa run. I can admit I didn't do the proper training before I left like I should have. So now it's going on to the year 2021 and im currently still at home. Mentally I'm ready to go but I have to pass the run, sit-ups, and push-ups before they will let me back in. I find myself procrastinating in doing that because I know I don't have a date and I have all the time in the world to do it so I just don't have the motivation. I would have more motivation to do it if I knew I had a leave date.

Alesha Brown You want to have success so start working out now. Your motivation is joining the Navy. You realize that you did not do the proper training so correct that. It is ok to make mistakes, but do not make the same mistake twice. Provide us with an update when you can do all the required PT elements and are ready to provide maximum effort to meet your goals.

If you want it bad enough, you do what you know you need to do.

Alesha Brown Make a contract with yourself. Do not eat or ? whatever until you have performed your exercises. Switching to half of them for one day and half for the next day is ok. Do not feed your face until you have earned a meal! Drink a lot of water. Pay a price or forget it!

Alesha Brown A written contract with yourself, hanging on a wall is a great reference. I DARE YOU TO PUT A CONTRACT WITH YOURSELF ON YOUR WALL!

Typing it up tonight! I'm going to try to do my sit-ups and pushups before I eat. so at least three times a day every day.

Another trick is to keep score on your compliance. At 87 years of age, I keep score on a paper calendar. One routine begets a backslash for the day. One gets a forward slash. Another receives a horizontal line. The other is marked with a vertical line on the calendar.
Try it - - - all “crutches” - reminders are fair to use for your health!
