If something is not specifically mentioned on an AER (DA 1059), can it be mentioned on an NCOER?

I'm currently working on my NCOER support form. In February, I was the DHG at the Postal Operations course. My academic evaluation report does not specifically mention I was DHG. All it says was my class rank was 1 of 29 and that I was Commandant's List. Can it be mentioned that I got DHG? If not, can it be mentioned that I got a Certificate of Achievement for being DHG? I haven’t stayed current on NCOERs; however, if the 1059 schools are still non-rated time then you cannot include anything that pertains to the school on the NCOER since it is not part of the rating period. Check with your S1, they can provided the regulatory guidelines.

One thing you may also be able to do that could help you in the future is having it annotated on your SRB. For NCOES schools, you can get CL (for Commandants List) right next to the school in the SRB. I’m not sure it is even possible to put DHG (I’ve never been one) but it is definitely possible to put CL. DHG may meet the S1 requirement to put CL next to the school if DHG is not an option in the system. These are highly valued data points that Segreants Major recognize at the SFC and MSG boards. They literally stand out like a sore thumb because of where they are annotated on the SRB.
As far as adding it to your NCOER, I don’t think it can be added because it’s in your 1059. Remember, you are supposed to have nonrated codes on your eval for schools that generate 1059s.
Keep in mind that it isn’t going to matter either way when the E7 board looks at your NCOERs. They hardly, if ever, view NCOERs below the SSG level. That doesn’t mean it’s unimportant. Learning the NCOER writing style and getting practice formulating bullets is where you really gain value for yourself as a SGT.

SGM (Join to see) Have you ever seen HG or CL added to a course that wasn't NCOES? I've heard some say that it is only for PME and others say it is for any 1059 course... not sure which is correct.

CPT (Join to see) I really don’t know. The CL that I have are for NCOES, and I have always relied on HR to do the inputting. I’d like to hear from some 42A folks out there so we can get a definitive answer.

I would mentioned that you received Certificate of Achievement for DHG. Better safe than sorry.

Thank you CW5 Jack Cardwell. I realize E-5s only get either a MET or DID NOT meet Standard on NCOERs, but I want to be as thorough and detailed as possible with my support form so that my rater can give me a justified NCOER.
