I'm leaving AIT for RASP soon and I'm trying to decide whether to pack my civilian clothes or ship them back home. As a 25P, my AIT was 5 months long and we were allowed to wear civies after class and on the weekends. We were also allowed to have electronics, game consoles, TV's, etc.

Is there a packing list for RASP? I've accumulated some personal belongings during AIT and I have to decide what to keep and what to ship home or sell.

We were required to have one set of roughs as described in the regimental blue book. During pre rasp we were able to go into Columbus and buy essentials for RASP, map markers, protractors etc. I’m not sure if this is still the case, but I would bring one pair of civilians including a collared shirt, khaki pants, a belt, and a pair of hiking (non army issue) boots. I would also bring books and maybe some board games. Weekends can be boring. We played a lot of risk

Yes, you will need civilian clothes, if it is still like it was when I went through twice. Things may be different during COVID. After training each day we were allowed to go to various places on post and sometimes we were allowed off post. I don't remember the details, but I'm sure I needed more than one pair of civilian clothes. Make sure they look nice from head to toe.
