LOR’s for WOFT and chances of being selected by WOFT board?

I am looking to establish contact(s) with senior Army aviation Warrant Officers as I am currently putting together my WOFT packet. Currently have letters of recommendation from a NY state judge, a Sergeant Major in the Army, a Purple Heart veteran, and the President/Owner of a local business that’s respected and has roots throughout the community. I do not personally know any senior aviation Warrant Officers, hence why I’m trying to establish and leverage said connections any ways possible, recommendations are appreciated.
Bit of background:
College graduate with B.S. in Marketing and unfortunately, a less than stellar 2.63 GPA. My only justification for the poor GPA could be attributed to working a full time job (sometimes more than 50 hours a week) in a management position throughout college (leadership and employee training done frequently in the position). I volunteered all throughout college for multiple different community organizations in addition to participating for 4 years in a club within the university. I’m quite confident that I’d not only pass the PT requirements, but score in the 240-270 range. ASVAB: 98 with a 136 GT score (hopefully that would compensate somewhat for my poor college GPA).
Any recommendations and/or opinions on my chances of selection? And where/how to leverage CW3,4,5’s contacts for LOR’s? Thank you in advance for any input.

As a civilian applicant a LOR from a senior Warrant is not a requirment for you.

I mean it couldn’t hurt. They just don’t expect you to know any Warrant Officer aviators being a civilian. I would be more picky about what is said in the LORs for you. To be honest your chances are already high, the Army likes to pull in civilians because they provide the biggest potential return on investment in regards to years you have left to serve. Especially now with the new 10 year obligation they will have you for a minimum of 11.5-12 years. Your chances are very good I would not stress too much.

2.63 is not less than stellar. People tend to forget that a 2.0 is average not below average. If everyone is pulling down a 3.0 or better, it.doesnt mean much. Working full time as a student speaks volumes.

Thanks for the reassurance! I’ll be sure to emphasize the full time management position as the justification. Glad to hear you say that because my recruiter was trying to tell me I barely have a shot with that GPA (took that with a grain of salt). Would rather have the board tell me “no” than to let my recruiter talk me out of pursuing a dream job. Thanks again!

Active or Guard/Reserve? If NG or Res try looking for a aviation unit close to you to find some one. Active will be more difficult, but not impossible. hopefully an active aviator can chime in.

You said you had a LOR from a NY judge, so I'm assuming you're from NY? If you're looking for an Active Duty LOR, the closest AD posts to NY with aviation units are Fort Drum, NY and Fort Belvoir, WA (DC metro area).

I grew up in NY and the judge is a long time family friend, but I now live in Southwest Florida.
