I leave for basic in Sept so I wont be able to vote at my local voter area, and I turned 18 in February so this will be my first time voting period. How do I vote while in basic?

Request an absentee ballot to mail to your folks, and have them mail to you. You can deal with your county clerk/ election officials on a more permanent basis once you leave IET

There will be a VAO there to assist. It's all done through the mail.

Americans can vote. Wherever they are.
Ensuring Service members, their eligible family members and overseas citizens can vote -- from anywhere in the world.

Set yourself up to vote by mail, and you'll vote early every time.
Been doing it since before I enlisted.
