Headed to fort Riley tomorrow for Pcs. At which point am I no longer in AIT or when can I leave if my DA31 says I'm authorized to leave starting today?
Also, will the replacement company assign me a sponsor? My losing unit and everyone I've called at Riley have no idea.

I am stationed at Ft. Riley. Your incoming unit already knows you are arriving. They are big on sponsorship here. One of the division commander's pet peeves. If you haven't already heard from your sponsor, I can guarantee that you will very soon after arrival and signing in to the replacement center. If you have any questions about the area don't hesitate to ask me.

Sponsorship is a big deal all around the Army today. It makes a transition so much better when you can get to a new location and have someone there ready to help you out.

Hello 1SG Hansen, I hope that this won't interrupt your day too much. I'm PVT Klayton Haddock, I graduate from AIT this Thursday and Fort Riley is my gaining installation. Unfourtantley I have no sponsor and have had my assignment for three weeks. Do you have any advice on how I can get a sponsor and get out of here? Any information will be very helpful. Once you are assigned to a unit when you get to replacement, you will either be bussed to your unit or someone from that unit will come and pick you up to take you to the unit. Your leave depends on whether you are flying there on the Govts dime or you are driving; if govt paying you leave tomorrow, if you are driving you should be able to leave today.
