Does army service members still get dual bah? I heard that only the highest ranking gets bah now?

I am dual military as well. The higher ranking service member gets full BAH and the lower ranking service member gets partial.

How long ago did y’all get married while in the army? I have everyone telling me that only the highest ranking gets bah and the junior ranking don’t get it at all unless both are stationed apart. I also have people saying that the only way both get bah is if both were married and in the army prior to the change.

I got married in November of last year. We had both already graduated OSUT. My biggest recommendation is to find someone at your unit who is dual military or go and talk to finance. They can give you the most accurate information. At my duty station it took a couple months for it to get worked out.

What SPC Bremen is telling you is correct. If there are no children, both will get BAH without Dep. if you have a child, the senior ranking member get with dependent and the lower ranking Soldier get without. SPC (Join to see)
