Total Respect for these Heroes what an honor and well deserved recognition. Thank you for your Service and sacrifices.
I attached a link to a civilian article, in case you are like me and can't access Stars and Stripes to see these great articles because they want to charge us online for them. Enjoy

One of the Doolittle Raiders that passed away earlier this year lived in Enumclaw, WA. I had the pleasure of meeting him twice over the years and was present when the City of Enumclaw unveiled the plaque seen here and gave Edward Saylor an honorary key to the city. They were all great men and we owe to them to keep telling their stories.

Absolutely we do and what a great thing for you to be able to meet him while he was alive. We need to keep their story alive and well for futures to come.

What these individuals did truly earns them the right to be called "HEROES!"

I had the honor of meeting Jacob DeShazer a bombardier on the raid in 2006. His airplane crashed in China and he was captured by the Japanese. After the war he went back to Japan as a missionary, met and converted his former captor to Christianity.
