Interesting that it did not sink in that today was my last day in uniform, until I was taking off my boots this evening. I guess I will need to make some changes to my profile pretty quick here.

Welcome to the sloooooooooowwwwww liiiiiiiiifffeee SFC Christopher Perry and job well done! Your frustration levels have no where to go but up during the civilian transition mode. Please learn from my pointless anger and confusion.....
1. Sense of urgency is a term that most civilians don't grasp. They will fail to meet your standard.
2. Your ability to do the work of 2 people is a skill set that many potential employers are unaware of. They will fail to meet your standard.
3. When working with others who are clueless how to fit 16 hours into a 8 hour day, their "standard" will come NO WHERE close to your standard.
4. A miniscule amount of businesses understand the true meaning of camaraderie. They are interested in making money. They will fail to meet your standard.
5. You have insanely high standards.

I hope you do a much better job than I did during this critical time. You have something that I didn't have, and that is everyone here on RallyPoint. Prayers from Arizona and we are all just a thread away. You rock!

SFC Mark Merino All I could do was giggle while reading your response. I think I am much more prepared this time around. I landed in the car business when I got out in 1992. It was not that this was what I really wanted to do, I just happened to be good at it. As the new car manager I was pulled to the side by the GM and given a bit of a reality check. He said I had to stop firing folks for things like not being on time for work (ever). It seems my expectations were a bit unrealistic.
