To clarify I'm trying to figure how competitive I look to the board and what else I should do to increase my chances at promotion

As an ‘old school’ former 75C, promotions specialist; as long as your records & Photo correctly reflect ALL medals & awards, you should be okay. Your letter of recommendation from your unit carries influence. Not sure how things are done with today’s technology. I did work the SFC/E7 promotion board in 1984 & I knew first-hand how SSG’s we’re eliminated from the selection process. Good Luck SSG Patrick Grady! The list is ‘posted’ the first of July!
