I currently have orders to a unit that is deployed. I have reached out to the senior Warrant of the brigade at the unit next on rotation and expressed my eagerness to join that unit and deploy with them. Can he realistically do anything or is this 100 percent an hrc thing?

They do this all the time. The senior warrant at your brigade will have little control over this, but the senior warrant, or strengths management at Division will have the ability to reroute you upon arrival. As for the HRC part, there is zero chance HRC will alter your orders before you arrive. But, once you arrive, you belong to the division and they can place you wherever they want.

To add, the Senior Aviation Warrant has enormous pull and works the talent management slate inconjunction with the senior Division Warrant Officer.

Not sure if it could work for someone if your rank as it would for you as it would for a junior enlisted or lower ranking NCO but it was my understanding that it could be as easy as a 4187 signed off on by your battalion commander if HRC won’t move you.

SGT (Join to see) - Officers are not usually managed that way. Warrant Officers are managed by a talent management process by the senior branch warrant on post inconjunction with the senior division warrant. BN XOs and BDE XOs run an officer slate. Talent management processes chaired by the BN/BDE Commanders where they prioritize commands. The officers are templated for their next assignment on post and rotated accordingly. New officers are assigned by vacancies and projected vacancies. Departing officers are moved by HRC once they hit time on station.

HRC thing. Sitting in many AHB training meetings and knowing the shortages, I'm certain that other CAB would want you. However, your currently assigned BDE wouldn't want to lose a much needed backfill either. Someone needs to fill that slot. Hopefully they return shortly after you report so there are birds to work on your progressions.

Thanks for your response. That is another reason I am trying to switch. The unit returns 2 months after my arrival. So I both wont go forward and wont progress. I guess I will try to find a contact at HRC
