Late, but relevant response. Chris Kyle did honorably serve as a Navy SEAL sniper, but he also inflated his medal count. In 2016, Navy made posthumous corrections.

A true American hero gunned down by a loon who had no idea what he was doing. It's an incredibly horrible story that none of us can change....
