Soldiers definitely recognize when you are not at P.T. with them.
I utilize their youth and energy to keep me young and motivated despite my multiple injuries.
I can say that when I do not start the day with fitness I do not feel as alive and motivated; furthermore I am not as effective throughout the day.

Here is what the SMA Dailey recently stated.

As an NCO, I was leading PT when I could and sharing the same struggle day in and day out.

As an officer, I'm a firm believer that PT (and most training) is NCO business. I enjoyed that responsibility as an NCO and I hope my NCOs share that same passion.

I agree with you Sir. now that you have changed over your position has changed as well. Hopefully you can influence other Officers on the philosophy.

In the Infantry world that is not even a question. But as the oldest in my platoon I can still score better than most Soldiers in the APFT, my knees and back cant say the same.
