Does anyone have more information on the Army Directive 2014-03 (Retention Control Points) that is dated 28 Jan 2014?

It leaves more questions than answers. I've never been reduced in rank, nor removed from a promotion list, but I'm past the new RCP stated in the directive. My ETS date is July 2016, am I able to continue to serve and try to get promoted until then? There is no grandfather clause in this new directive.

Yes, if you haven't been reduced in rank as a result of disciplinary action after the updated RCP message took effect, you will be allowed to stay in to your current contractual ETS, unless you are otherwise separated for a different reason.
If however, a Soldier is reduced in rank after the message became effective, and they exceed the RCP for their new, lower rank, they will be separated no earlier than 90 days from the date of their new, reduced rank.

Yes, you are spot on. I did neglect to mention that scenario as well. I have heard a couple of proposals on establishing the criteria for the adjustment of the ETS date but they aren't official yet, so I don't want to post them here. Stay tuned! Thanks for your contributions. --MSG M.

Just so that I'm clear on this... the number next to each respective rank is TIS and not TIG? And if it is TIS, you have until you reach that number of years to be promoted to the next rank?

My understanding is that you will either be able to continue with your contract until ETS or your unit must begin chapter paperwork due to the RCP guidelines. It would be classified as an involuntary seperation and you would receive an honorable so long as there is nothing in your record that would prevent you receiving one. I highly recommend speaking with your Career Counselor and/or Retention NCO as like you said, this policy is rather vague in what is to be done with Soldiers who have met their RCP.
