What is the difference between DRV/MECH and DMB-DWV?

I was awarded the drivers badge with "w" a few years ago. A few weeks ago I go in for a color guard interview and was told to have DMB-DWV taken off because I couldn't wear it. Fine. Contacted S1 who helped me get it removed. But I am still confused as to the distinction between the two different awards. I have a photo highlighting my confusion.

Is it to differentiate between the different tabs on the badge? I can't find the IPPS-A translation sheet, but here is the para from 600-8-22
8–32. Driver and Mechanic Badge
a. The Driver and Mechanic Badge is awarded to drivers, mechanics, and special equipment operators to denote the attainment of a high degree of skill in the operation and maintenance of motor vehicles.
b. Commanders of brigades, regiments, separate BNs, and any commander in the rank of LTC/O–5 or higher may approve award of the Driver and Mechanic Badge.
c. Component bars are authorized only for the following types of vehicles and/or qualifications: (1) Driver-W (for wheeled vehicles).
(2) Driver-T (for tracked vehicles).
(3) Driver-M (for motorcycles).
(4) Driver-A (for amphibious vehicles).
(5) Mechanic (for automotive or allied vehicles).
(6) Operator-S (for special mechanical equipment).
Is there a difference SFC (Join to see) on the menu inside the SRB?

This is the response I got from the personnel who handle my SRB/PPW issue:
"5. Commanders (CDRs), Brigade (BDE)/Battalion (BN) S1 s, and Military Personnel Divisions (MPDs) must correctly update eMILPO to reflect one entry of the ORV/MECH badge and at least one type of authorized component bar in order for a Soldier to receive 1O promotion points on their PPW."
So the DRV/MECH reflects me or anyone being awarded the driver badge. The second row denotes my specific bar for "wheeled" vehicles.

So my belief is DRV/MECH is the Badge itself and DMB(Driver Mechanic Badge)-DWV(Driver-Wheel Vehicle)
