I want to be an officer but I don’t want to get stuck in any other field but medical. Can I become an Army nurse using green to gold? I remember seeing somewhere there was a nursing option. Or who do I need to talk to find a better answer?

Army is always short nurses, so they may likely accommodate you. Talk to a specialized nursing recruiter.

You can do nursing in Green to Gold. You can also stay on active duty and go to nursing school under the Enlisted Commissioning Program.

To tag on SPC (Join to see) the ROTC Nurse program is pipelined. The Nurse Cadets go to a different Advanced Camp and are commissioned in the Nurse Corps. https://www.goarmy.com/rotc/courses-and-colleges/programs/nursing.html

While your assumption is correct for basic branch accessions commissions, it is not for Nursing. Talk to an ROTC program, they have recruiting and Ops officers. They can tell you what is out there right now.

You can compete for G2G, but if you can't get G2G: use TA to take pre reqs for the degree program, hold onto your GI Bill; ETS and go full time on the GI Bill; apply to Army ROTC as a Nurse Cadet; apply for other ROTC scholarships. End result, still commissioned as a RN as long as you hold up your end academically and with licensure.

Sir,

I wish to respectfully make a correct. Nursing cadets don’t go to a different advance camp. We go to the same advance camp as all other cadets. I believe you may be referring to the Nurse Summer Training Program.

1LT (Join to see) I stand corrected. Nurse Camp was a separate one once upon a time.

My NCO incharge is SSG. He got into the green to gold program.
He is getting his nursing through green to gold.

SPC (Join to see) - Then you should try for something like this,
https://www.usuhs.edu/emdp2
EMDP2 is a two year prep program for getting MCAT and everything else ready for med school.
Assuming you have a bachelors already. This is like a post bachelorate please excuse my spelling.
Here we have doctors as well, lots of residents who come on rotations.
This is what he told me, he was in the military band it seems and was i think SSG.
He finished his bachelors and then pre requisites i.e. pre med like 1 year of biology, chem ,some labs and then wrote MCAT and got into USUHS.
There are lots of people who are from https://www.usuhs.edu who i have seen.
Please feel free to post your queries i can ask folks here and answer them.
Also visit your education center and use your TA to get your bachelors if not finished.
If i were you i would check the EMDP2 and prepare yourself since its a good program to get you into Med school. End of the day you have to write MCAT and apply to med schools like everyone else.

SPC (Join to see) - With EMDP2 i think you will 1 LT during college and then after writing MCAT you can chose either civilian medical school or else USUHS.
There is a milper message about this as well.
I havent seen anybody from green to gold program for med school though here.

Understood, once you have your bachelors then you have to write MCAT and apply for medical schools still. HSPS will take care of your medical school fees. But you still have to write MCAT and go through the same application process for the medical schools like others do.
Attend a briefing for green to gold and join the facebook group as well.
What options do you have for bachelors in green to gold?
