Where can I go to file a claim to see if I'm eligible for a service connected rating?

Do you have any Veteran Service Organizations (VSOs) near you? VFW, American Legion, DAV, anything like that? They (specifically DAV) helped me IMMENSELY when filing my claim. As a matter of fact, the Army REQUIRED us to go see a VSO to start the claim process as part of the retirement process.

PO3 G. Martinez have you ever filed a VA claim before? If so they have your records. If so, you’ll be asked for supporting documents as to why this claim.

PO3 G. Martinez DAV is not a VA organization, they are their own entity.
I recommend going to the local VW and see if they have anyone who helps with VA claims. We have a person or three with each of the VSOs who specialized in helping to prepare claims. Basically, they will help you with the paperwork, give you advice, and tell you what to do. But at the end of the day, you have to do it.
