I am surprised to be the first to answer, are we just to saturated with this information about ISIS? I believe so, nothing shocks us, it is called conditioning us for worse. Looking back to the start of the Gulf War in 91, we have been subject to more and more real photos and press coverage, to the point a beheading on live video is not seen front page news any longer.
What does this do to us as a people, a question I often ask myself, what are our children going to be looking at in 30 years?
Ok to the question; Arming the "opposition" is not going to work, look back to the middle east and how many times the US supplied weapons and they were used against us...EVERY COUNTRY except Israel have used our own weapons against us.
Stabilizing the nations with what THEY need and not what the west wants for benefits may be a good start. As far as these clowns; they are a bunch of little men who are being "allowed" to run around and terrorize in order to perpetuate the situation there...or do you really think we do not know where they are and do you really think we should be wasting smart bombs on a bicycle just to show we are "making progress"?
These guys are a joke, the press is pumping them up and the Military is allowing them to thrive, simple as that, we will reap the results of our stupidity and complacency.
Before anyone goes on the emotional attack, think about what I wrote, think about the actions, read the news and look realistically at the rapper who stands in the desert with a knife threatening the POTUS...really? NOT.
Steady on

Do you remember the TV showing a man shooting another man in the head during the Viet Nam war?  Kids grow up with that and all the killing games they play so that reality is blurred.

I recently posted a similar question except I asked if ISIS is an actual international group. I ask this question because I don't like the media and/or government loosely throwing around this "ISIS affiliation" with everyone who may be acting like a terrorist. In your topic, you state that a group LINKED to ISIS says it's behind an attack. My biggest issue is the "how and where?" How is the attack linked? Is the government calling it a linked attack because it was just terrorism? Are these people being commanded by a central ISIS leadership? And if so, and we know it, why aren't we dropping bombs? I don't know if I buy the whole linkage to ISIS every time these incidents happen. I am more inclined to think that the region is saturated with copycats and extremists who want a piece of the action, as opposed to an actual "link". Thoughts?

Only one way to deal with ISIS. Hint: it's not to apologize or send them love and well wishes.
