I leave the army in 8 and a half months. Since its so close to my ets time I was wondering if anyone knows if you get travel days on top of your terminal leave for OCONUS etsing? I only ask because everyone here is telling me you do. When I look online it says yes and no depending on who answers. Is it different depending on who approves/disapproves?

No, you just have however long it takes to fly home. People at retirement can get permissive TDY though.

If I remember correctly, it's proceed time and it is just to get you to CONUS. Your ID card will expire once you hit the ground in the US.

Don't know if Army Separation Tranafer Points still exist, but my first duty station was at the Ft Jackaon USASEPTRFPT. Soldiers from Germany and Panama would arrive late at night, and would complete separation (DD214, final pay, and flights home, opportunity to transfer/enlist in IRR/NG/USAR) the next day. Numbers were anywhere between 10 and 100+. Practice was based on SOFA agreements to not separate service members in host countries. I recall there was one at Jackson and another at Ft Dix. Don't recall what west coast post handled it.

I never heard of that honestly. Only when you go there I did.
