Good morning my name is LCpl Ngwegwe and The marine corps owed me back pay and I’ve pushing for it since last year October finally it got approved and I got a phone call this week from my admin chief on February 4th which was on Monday saying that the sent the money to my bank and should get it with in 24-48 hrs from Monday. Today is Thursday and nothing came through my bank and I don’t want call admin again until I got any advice from anyone who knows how pay and deposits work, my bank tells me they haven’t received it yet and Co admin says it’s already deposited. So the question is it normal for it to talk this long or it does depend on the Bank

If DFAS said they deposited it and you don't see it today, call back. Have you changed banks? Do they have the right routing and account numbers? Are you already receiving your pay through direct deposit?

LTC Jason Mackay no I haven’t changed my account number and I’ve been receiving my drill pay as usual and it was my admin chief who told that it was already deposited

Just out of curiosity how does you CO know about the deposit? There is a validation to approve a monetary action, and there is a process for inputting your information into the DFAS pay system.

MAJ Ken Landgren Admin told me that they just corrected the errors and submitted them to my battalion for approval after the battalion approved it was sent to some other place I forgot exactly what it’s called but they did the calculations and determined exactly how much back pay they owed me, and told my admin chief that it’s good to go I should see the back pay in my account in a few days
