Hi!
So during basic I was forced to reclass to a 91b since my ts clearance hadn’t been approved. A year later, It’s been approved and I’m wondering if it’s possible I’ll be allowed to go to my original mos (35p) since that’s the only reason I joined the army. My recruiter told me there may be a chance, but I’m not sure. Please help, I’m miserable as a mechanic and do not want to do this for 6 years. Thanks.

Yes it is. You'll have to contact the 35P MOS proponent and ask for a memorandum stating that you are qualified for the MOS 35P without additional training (obviously, your DLPT and OPI will need to be up to date and at least a 2).
Take that to your Career Counselor once you've been at your current assignment for one year. They can submit a Voluntary Reclass without training, if you're inside you're reenlistment window, then it's a reenlistment without training.
HRC will make the final determination based on the strengths of the two MOSs.

Once your contract is complete you may be able to reclassify. Otherwise enjoy your time. Thank you for your service.

They just invested money in your latest MOS. I doubt your commander would release you unless your Batallion S2 needed you to reclass and they had too many mechanics. I would say pursue a college degree in your time off. Become an NCO as soon as you can, volunteer for everything and do well at p.t. to be a leader. This may impress them and get rank faster. Go Green to Gold. Go to OCS and then be an MI Officer ( Even if you get MI as an enlisted).
Just my 2 sense.
