Mess Hall, Chow Hall, or Dining Facility. What do we call it??

PO2 (Join to see) - Must be New Navy. In boot camp we marched to the mess hall and onboard ship we ate on the mess deck. Larger ships have more than one galley, so I assume they have more than one mess deck

In the Marines I was a cook in the chow hall.

Still a mess hall to me. With the best cold milk on planet earth. In the big self serve container you pull down on the handle and milk comes out the white rubber hose. Delicious!!!!!!!!!!! SOS was pretty great too

And if you are assigned to a ship, it becomes a Mess Deck. But, when standing in line, it is a chow line. Make sense in all that.
