I'm looking mostly for where it was used, what it was used for, and who made it/first production year.

What is the item? Do you have a picture of it? Are you looking at a list of stock numbers? That is not a NSN. you are missing a two digit sequence. Is it 6545-00-922-1260?

6545 means it is some sort of medical item. You'd need a fedlog equivalent from 1974 or earlier if it is indeed a FSN.

6545-00-922-1200 is a vanilla vehicle first aid kit.

At Ft Riley I got a call from a Navy Civilian, he said someone at Ft Rile is trying to order a large anchor. He also mentioned they could not return the anchor once delivered. I assured him that it must have been a mistake and cancel the order.
