In 99 we were ordered to drive from Macedonia into Kosovo to a Camp named Bondsteel, I spent hours in the back of my Bradley having to pee sooooo bad, finally I couldn't wait any longer and grabbed a bottle just as I started peeing the Bradley stopped and the ramp came down with hundreds of local nationals staring at me saying welcome to Kosovo :(

I never saw military action.  But there was plenty to be had CONUS back in the 70s.  Crime was a problem.

I can never forget the fear of a revolver pressed behind my head.  Happened on base at Ft. Ord.  Thought I was done and it sure put a different perspective on life that persists today.

When traveling around Afghanistan conducting Vulnerability Assessments I spent an unplanned night at a small COP in the 173rd AO.  One of the guys had a guitar and in the moonlight he played a few songs culminating in the whole base singing Tenacious D's "F@#$ her gently" at the top of our lungs.

I'll always remember that.
