I recently visited the In-dependent.com site. It's built by, and for, military spouses. They're doing an amazing job, showing how ironic the title 'dependent' really is.

I started my military 'career' as the spouse of a Navy E-4. In 1994, I was NEO'd out of GTMO with all the other dependents. I can honestly say that my experiences as a military spouse were critical for building strengths I still use today.

This is something I have commented on with my friends. Women serve too with all the issues associated with active duty service.
