So I just got out of basic 2 weeks ago. I’m back in high school and I was told to get in contact with my unit. I tried calling them but I can’t get an answer. Is reserve drill next weekend?? Is it the same for every unit?

Walk into the armory after school one day and introduce yourself to the Readiness NCO. He will take care of everything and give you a drill schedule. It’s that easy.

He said he's Reserve, not Guard. He can't just walk into an armory because they won't know who he is.

I initially joined the Reserves. When I completed Basic Training,I walked into my units Reserve Center and told them who I was and I am in their Unit. They sorted it out quickly. It was just that easy. BTW, you are two years late to the party. CW3 (Join to see)

Drill weekend can vary depending on the unit and state. It is usually the 1st weekend of the month. Most Units have a civilian that is there throughout the week Mon-Fri that is a POC. Your unit might be on a field exercise. I know when I was reserves we would do a 2 day field exercise on some weekends.
On Monday try to contact them again. If you still cannot contact them then call your recruiter who will advise you on the next step to take. It might take a physical trip out to your unit.

Modern day security has most armory's on such a lockdown status that you have to wait for a member of the unit appear and take you into the facility! I had despaired of entry after no one would answer the phone number posted on the door!

Typically your recruiter will accompany you to your first battle assembly and make sure you are handed off to someone in the unit. At a minimum, you should have been given a point of contact. I would contact your recruiter
