How do I become a Ranger if I’m currently in the Reserves?

In a jiffy here. About a month and a half ago I had the idea of going the reserves as a 35f so i can get my degree. Went through meps and that and now I’m just waiting for boot camp. I realized I made a mistake. My recruiter made it sound like an awesome job, but the more I look into it the more I want to go active and become a ranger. Since I swear in and signed a contract already my recruiter says it’s to late. This was a really fast process and didn’t get that deep into the job. So the question is how can I switch to active and get that option 40 because that’s what I really really want the more I look into it. Will I have to wait until my six year contract is up?

I think you can get a conditional release from your Reserve contract to go Active, but I don't know for sure.
Do you understand the difference between going to Ranger School and joining the 75th Ranger Regiment?

I switched from NG to Active and joined the unit. It is possible, but unlikely to heppen over night. Talk to your command about a conditional release and be prepared to re pay bonuses if received. Good luck
