Does anybody know of any Army programs that can help me pay for IT certifications (or offer some sort of discount on the course)?

I am looking to get certified in a couple of IT classes at my school. However, I don't have over 2K to pay for the classes. Anybody know of any army programs that can help me pay for the certifications or offer some sort of discount on the course?

Use SkillPort to study for certs you want. Once you do enough exams and get a high enough percentage you can put in for a voucher to take the actual exam at a nearby Ed Center.

It's a free way to study up on just about anything and you sign up with a CAC card. A lot of S-6 personnel here use it to get vouchers for Sec + in particular.

I earned many certifications by teaching lower level classes at a discount rate in exchange for free admission to the classes I wanted. Started teaching desktop applications and worked my way up to major programming and systems administration certifications.

This is a great way to gain CEU (continuing eduction units) to maintain certs once achieved as well.

SGT (Join to see) - It also gave me access to some of my best consulting contracts. Believe it or not, employers would send non-tech skilled personnel, secretaries even, to programming classes expecting them to come back and create applications after a class or two. These people introduced me to their bosses and I knocked out the apps they wanted and saved them the cost of sending people to classes that would never yield the benefits they were looking for.
