Today, we are operating in an environment with many generations working together at the corporate level. Most people don't stay with the same company for twenty and thirty years? How many Veterans out there are starting small businesses?

At the present time, I just don't think that the risk-reward is right. The economy is coming back, but to really be successful I think that you need to have something innovative, something new to bring to the table, if you really want it to thrive. What I believe actually needs to happen is that more vets need to take advantage of education, either trades, tech or traditional schooling, and go on from there. I think that we are missing out on a lot of untapped potential in some of these guys and gals that get out and take the comfortable and easy route of falling into comfortable positions in lower level-middle management or just choosing to live off of their disability benefits. I think that we need to start pushing these people forward; make them understand that the fight to be more than we are is not over after we hang up the uniform and that we still owe it to ourselves, our families, and our country to do incredible things after our service. Once we get enough of these individuals on this route, I think that we will find that there are some new ideas that come out and we will find that these vets can go into creating their own business and bring something to the table that people want and they will be successful.

Great points and I would agree with you. I am having such a hard time finding Veteran small business owners. VETRN offers an executive education course, FREE, if accepted and we help Veteran small business owners scale their business. I am hoping to find entrepreneurs on Rally Point.

SGT Joseph Gunderson - We are expanding the program slowly and so I want to get the word out. We will focus in New England first and then move West.

BTW, I have a LinkedIn Business Page that I’m just starting up that I think will be of value as we grow....

Would appreciate your thoughts.

I would be interested in learning more about the course that you mentioned. I am setting my business in flight and am a bit nervous but excited too! I feel pretty confident that we have a game changer but am definitely open to additional coaching/mentoring... https://www.linkedin.com/company/arc3-global

Slash more regulations and lower taxes (they're still too damn high).
Even then, entrepreneurship isn't for everyone. I don't even want to be my own boss, and only do freelance work because of a lack of job opportunities in my area.
