I am in the reserves and my unit is scheduled to deploy at the end of the month. I have been told that I will be on rear Detatchment because of my on going paperwork to go active duty still being processed. I have been told by other soldiers in my unit that rear D us much different. I was also told that we don't get paid like we normally would.
Thanks

SPC(P) (Join to see) I would get with some Soldiers whom have experienced to find that out in my honest opinion. I have never heard of it on Active Duty.

No understand that I wont get any kind of active duty pay or any benefits like that. Bit what I have been told is that the pay that we normally get for a Drill weekend will be cut in half

You normally receive two days pay for each eight hour day of drill. What they are saying is devise your unit is deployed you will receive one days pay for one days work. That would be correct if they keep you on the UIC for that unit which would not make sense. There should be a derivative UIC created for the rear D. So your pay should not change. Talk to the unit admin.(the full time guy) he/she should tell you the plan.
